Pastor
Pastor Jonas Mark Hayes
Jonas was born and raised in the Midwest in Kirksville, Missouri – just blocks away from Truman State University. Initially, he experienced a call into the ministry in elementary school while accompanying his father (who is also a Presbyterian Minister) on pastoral visits.
His call into the ministry deepened when he was a student at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee as he served in campus ministry, as well as preaching and leading worship in small churches in the surrounding area of his college town.
Jonas studied English Literature at Tusculum (1999) and then completed a Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary (2003)

Director of Music
Carl Granieri
Carl has agreed to be the Music Director for as long as it takes for us to find a permanent one.
He is a most accomplished musician, and a deeply committed Christian, who loves to serve churches when and where he can.
He loves to nurture musical talent in others and can’t wait to meet with our choir this week and work with them to sustain the wonderful progress they have made under Bob & Glenn.

🌿 A Heart for Service and Faith
Sandy has been a lifelong Christian, but in the past ten years, she has felt a renewed and deepened call to her faith. Although she is a member of another church in Naples, she feels strongly led by the Holy Spirit to serve at Lely Presbyterian Church. Since joining the team in April, Sandy has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the staff and congregation. She hopes to be a helpful presence to all who visit and prays that her service here makes a meaningful difference.
📍 From Cleveland to Naples
Originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, Sandy moved to Naples in 2017, brought here by a former employer after working on various projects in the area. She happily traded in the harsh Cleveland winters for the sunshine of Southwest Florida!
👨👩👧👦 Family, Faith, and Furry Friends
Sandy is a proud mother of three sons and grandmother to nine grandchildren, who she visits often—and who love visiting her in Naples. She jokes (with a smile) that she somehow remains a loyal Cleveland Browns fan, despite the distance.
In her free time, Sandy enjoys daily walks around the church neighborhood, reading her Bible, and participating in Christian walking and reading challenges. She is also lovingly owned by two adorable furkid cats—her cherished companions who are very much part of the family.
“My prayer is to be a helpful presence to all who visit and to make a meaningful difference through my service.”

Chair (Elder- Session)
Bonnie Hartley
Bonnie came to Naples in 2013, with her husband Bob, originally as snowbirds. They both retired after 35 years as special education teachers in Uniontown, PA. Bonnie also served as a lay pastor for 7 years with a small church in their presbytery. They have 2 children, and 2 granddaughters, all living in the northern Virginia and Maryland area. They became full time residents in Naples in 2020 and love it! They have attended Lely since coming to Naples, loving the warm, family atmosphere and immediately feeling they belonged here. Bonnie loves the mission outreach that Lely supports and is involved with the Fellowship committee. They both sing in the choir.

Building and Grounds (Elder- Session)
Nancy Copeland
I’m honored to currently serve as an Elder at Lely Presbyterian Church. My late husband and I were blessed with 58 wonderful years of marriage, and we began attending Lely in 2001 while spending winters here as snowbirds from Ohio. Over time, we became associate members and eventually full members of the church family.
Throughout my life, I’ve been deeply involved in church leadership across several congregations. I’ve served as Children’s Director, Chair of the Worship Committee, Recording Financial Secretary, and taught Sunday School for more years than I can count. I’m also a retired schoolteacher from Dayton Christian School, a private Christian school in Ohio.
At Lely, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Chairman of the Deacons and currently serve as the Elder responsible for grounds and facilities, as well as Chair of the Nominating Committee. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving alongside such a loving and faithful community. I’m also a proud mother of three and grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren.

Facilities Engineer
Bob Stewart
Born in western Pennsylvania and spending most of my life in Bethlehem on the eastern side of the state, Mary and I moved to Naples in 2014. After 46 years practicing as a Companion Animal Veterinarian, I retired. Mary then announced she was done with snow and ice and heading to Naples—was I coming? Loving her (and her cooking), my answer was a definite “Yes!”
Having spent decades on my feet working long days, I wasn’t built for sofa-surfing. Volunteering now fills my time, and I enjoy the variety. I currently spend half my days helping Save Florida’s Environment—serving as a Docent at the Dalton Discovery Touch Tank with “my” sea snails, and in season, as a Certified Trail Guide on Rookery Bay’s Briggs Boardwalk.
Our church also offers meaningful ways to serve, including Monday afternoons with Meals of Hope (where I sweat and occasionally drown), mentoring with New Horizons, and participating in various Misión Peniel activities.
But my true happy place? The trunk of my Camry, packed with tools, ready for Fix-It opportunities around the church. I’m grateful to serve as Lely’s primary Maintenance Volunteer, using the gifts God has given me to save the hard-earned money you donate through your pledges—so it can go directly toward our mission work. It’s playtime with a purpose, and I thank God for it every day.
