Love Feast

Practicing Gratitude: A Moravian Love Feast

Sunday, November 2, 2025 | 10:00 a.m.

- In the Sanctuary

The theme for worship during the month of November is “Practicing Gratitude.” Together as a family of faith, we will reflect on ways the scriptures call God’s people to practice gratitude in tangible ways, as we seek to follow our Lord Jesus Christ.

This series will begin on Sunday, November 2 with a Moravian Love Feast worship service, which is a tradition in the Moravian Christian Church. The Love Feast is rooted in the “love feasts” or “agape meals” of the early church which focused on fostering Christian love, unity, and fellowship, singing, and informal teaching. On Sunday, November 2 – Lely Presbyterian Church will celebrate our own adapted version of a Love Feast in this service of gratitude and thanksgiving. A Dixieland jazz band will assist in leading the music in worship, so we encourage you to come early and find a seat. In lieu of a sermon, church family members will share personal testimonies about their faith and gratitude.

The Moravian Love Feast grows out of the practice among early Christian believers of sharing absolutely everything in common and is a contemporary way of reminding ourselves of the unity and equality found in the faith community. Sweet bread will be shared during this service of worship and we will enjoy hot, mulled apple cider in Kemp Hall following worship.

with heart and hands and voices,

who wondrous things has done,

in whom his world rejoices.”

Lely Presbyterian in harmony with Motown “Don’t expect any “Dancing in the Streets” because there’s generally a “Heat Wave” in Naples the first week of September. But some swaying “On Bended Knee” will be possible at Lely Presbyterian Church as it opens a month of Motown themes in its worship service.” https://www.naplespress.com/2025/09/05/lely-presbyterian-in-harmony-with-motown/

🎉 A Joyful Welcome to Sabrina & Samantha!

Welcome Sabrina & Samantha!
This past Sunday was a joyful milestone for our faith community as we officially welcomed Sabrina and Samantha into membership. After completing a meaningful series of confirmation classes with Pastor Jonas, these two young women affirmed their faith and commitment in a special service.

Following the ceremony, we gathered for a heartfelt celebration—complete with cake, smiles, and warm fellowship. It was a beautiful moment of growth, connection, and shared joy.

Feeding Dreams

Lely Presbyterian Donates Funds to Feeding Dreams

Donated to date

$7870 was raised to support the children of Lely Elementary with food for the weekends.  What a generous congregation!  Thank you, Lely presbyterian!

In Florida, thousands of children face food insecurity every weekend.
Feeding Dreams steps in to help—providing weekend backpack meals to at-risk students every Friday. These meals ensure children have enough to eat until Monday, so they can return to school nourished and ready to learn.

But food isn’t the only need.
Many of these same children also lack basic school supplies. That’s why Lely Presbyterian Church proudly supports both Feeding Dreams and Misión Piñal—two missions working hand-in-hand to uplift young lives. While Feeding Dreams fills backpacks with food, Misión Piñal helps provide the backpacks themselves, giving children the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Together, these missions nourish bodies, minds, and futures.
We invite you to be part of this life-changing work. Your support can help feed a child, equip them for school, and show them they are not alone.
